There are two theory test centres near to Ashford, one in Canterbury and the other in New Romney. If you are doing a Pass Plus course with us then the motorway section of your course will predominantly take place on the M20. So for example routes around the Headcorn, Bethersden, Charing, Kingsnorth, Aldington and Woodchurch areas might be used. The rural routes around the Ashford area will use the roads between the surrounding villages. This will be covered during your lessons as it is near the test centre and appears on some of the test routes. This is one of a handful of 'shared spaces' in the UK where most street furniture, road markings and traffic lights have been removed and the speed limit reduced to 20mph. One particularly interesting section of road in the Ashford area is the 'shared space' which was introduced in spring 2008. The more urban driving practice will be in Ashford or one of busier towns/villages nearby (depending on your exact location) such as Folkestone, Cranbrook, Wye, Hythe, Tenterden. The routes used around Ashford will consist of a mix of urban and rural routes. This enables us to find the ideal types of roads and junction to practice various manoeuvres and types of driving.

We have had many students from the area and because of this know the roads well. If you are taking your driving test in Ashford then we are familiar with the local driving test routes and will try to give you as much experience on these routes as possible. We provide intensive driving courses in Ashford and the surrounding areas, catering for all the local towns and villages.
